Mr. Goyal belongs to a business family from interior Punjab. He started his entrepreneurial journey immediately after his Graduation with the manufacturing of surfactants. In 1997, taking up a challenge from Ranbaxy supply source team he set up the first Intermediate manufacturing unit at Village Saidpura, Distt Mohali in Punjab.
The unit has since then gone on to become the largest Bromine handling facility in the hinterlands and produces 7-8 critical KSM/ Side chain and other Pharma intermediates used in manufacturing of Cephalosporins and Carbapenems. In 2003, he established the second manufacturing plant in Village Bhagwanpura, Distt Dera Bassi on a 10 Acre plot of land. The unit was set up to cater to the requirements of Indian and Foreign MNCs needing APIs and Advanced Intermediates and received its first EU GMP approval in 2005. The unit now has several Manufacturing blocks and majorly exports its production to several regulated markets.
Mr. Goyal has acquired experience in all areas of Management. He is known for his passion for optimization and perfection, he has also spearheaded the setting up of the company’s in-house ERP systems. The excellent reputation that SCL enjoys in its peer group is largely owed to the principles and values set by him. In his latest role as a leader, he is now involved in setting the Goals and vision for the next generation of SCL businesses and growth.
Mr. Sengupta supervises Business Development and Sales for International Markets. A Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Thapar University, Patiala, India, he also did his Post Graduation in International Trade from IIFT, New Delhi, India. After working in several companies including a few multinationals, he joined the company in the year 2000 and was co-opted as a member of the Board in 2003. With 37 years of industrial experience including19 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and notable expertise driving corporate value creation by partnering with many clients worldwide resulting in exports to over 75 different countries. Most recently he has been looking at various strategic growth options for the company.
Saurav completed his Chemical Engineering from Syracuse University, NY in the year 2013. It was around this time that Mitsubishi Corporation invested in SCL. To better understand the systems and processes followed in large MNCs and to get a broader perspective of the Chemicals and allied Industries, he got an opportunity to work as an employee with Mitsubishi offices, first in New Delhi and then in New Jersey.
In both places Saurav successfully dealt with and added value to Mitsubishi Sales.
In the course of five years spent with Mitsubishi he has marketed products ranging from Agrochemicals, Excipients, APIs, Fine Chemicals and Advanced intermediates. Given this background and the Journey on which SCL has now embarked upon, he has been appointed to head the Critical “New Product Development” portfolio.
